Required Documents for Philippines Visa Application
Applicants must submit the following documents for a Philippines visa:
1. Visa Application Form
- A duly completed visa application form.
- Must be filled out in black or blue ink using BLOCK letters.
2. Passport & Photocopies
- A passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended stay.
- Photocopies of the biometric page and any alteration pages.
3. Photographs
- Two recent colored photographs (2″ x 2″) with a white background.
4. Proof of Financial Capacity
a. Bank Statements:
- Original bank statements showing substantial transactions for the last six (6) months.
- Certified by the bank (E-statements must also be certified).
- If no statements are available, an updated bank book (certified by the bank) must be provided.
- Minimum balance requirement: Rs. 300,000 or more, maintained consistently.
- Fixed deposits (certified by the bank) can be submitted as an optional document.
- Consent letter for joint bank accounts (if applicable).
- If sponsored by an immediate family member, proof of relationship is required (birth or marriage certificate, translated into English and certified by a notary public or JP).
b. Business Income Proof (For Business Owners):
- Copy of the Business Registration Certificate, certified by the Divisional Secretariat.
5. Travel & Accommodation Details
- Flight reservations (entry & exit from the Philippines).
- Hotel bookings or proof of lodging for the duration of stay.
6. Sponsorship & Company Support (If Applicable)
- For incentive tours sponsored by a company:
- A sponsorship letter signed by two directors OR one director & a senior manager.
- Certified copy of the Business Registration Certificate.
- List of directors, certified by the company secretary.
- If the applicant is a director, another director and a senior manager must sign.
- If sponsored from the Philippines:
- Letter of invitation, authenticated by a notary public in the Philippines.
- Sponsor’s passport copy.
- Sponsor’s certified bank statements for the last six (6) months.
7. Employment & Ties to Home Country
- Letter from employer granting leave and confirming return to Sri Lanka.
- If self-employed, a personal letter explaining the trip.
- Documents proving ties to the home country, such as:
- Employment contract or letter.
- Property ownership documents (if requested).
- Sri Lankan residence visa (for foreign passport holders residing in Sri Lanka).
8. Police Clearance (If Requested)
- The Philippine Consulate may require a police clearance at a later stage.
Processing Time & Visa Validity
- Processing Time: 10-15 working days (subject to DFA approval).
- Single-entry visa valid for 3 months.
Additional Requirements for Minor Applicants (Sri Lankans)
- Birth certificate (Sinhala & English translation) – Original required at submission, or a certified copy by a JP/notary public.
- Marriage certificate of parents (English translation).
- Letter from parents confirming that the child is accompanied by them, along with their passport copies.
- If parents are not accompanying the child, a notarized consent letter from both parents is required.
- For students: A letter from the school/university mentioning the passport number and granting permission to travel.
General Instructions for All Visa Applications
✔️ All relevant letters must be addressed to the Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines, Colombo, mentioning the correct address and the applicant’s passport details.
✔️ The Consulate may request additional documents at its discretion.
✔️ Submission of complete documents does not guarantee visa approval.
✔️ Applications missing any required documents will not be processed. The decision of the Processing Officer is final.
✔️ Group Applications (5 or more applicants) must be submitted before 11:00 AM.
✔️ Visa Fee: The applicable visa fee is payable in Sri Lankan Rupees and is subject to change without notice. Visa fees are non-refundable.
✔️ Documents submitted (original or copies) will NOT be returned. Applicants should carry original documents for verification during the interview.
⚠️ DO NOT finalize travel bookings until your visa is approved. A temporary flight itinerary issued by an approved travel agent can be submitted instead.
